Hi new screeners,

I'll be teaching two intro composition courses here at UWisc-Milwaukee,
and I want to incorporate basic cultural studies into the class. So,
I'd be interested in hearing what ideas people have tried out for their
intro level classes.

NOTE: this is not a film 101 class: I don't want to teach _Citizen Kane_,
_Stagecoach_, etc. Rather, I want to provide some basic film, tv, and
written texts that students can use to get used to textual criticism,
close reading, cultural studies, etc. etc.

I'm being intentionally vague to a certain extent, so that people will
feel free to suggest wildly. I'll be out of town for a week, so don't
think I've neglected to respond if I don't get back right away.

Thanks.
