*This is a reminder of the ongoing open call for Feminist Media
Studies Commentary and Criticism.*

The Commentary and Criticism section of *Feminist Media Studies* aims to
publish brief (~1500 words) timely responses to current issues in feminist
media culture, for an international readership. Essays may pose a
provocation, describe work in progress, or propose areas for future study.
We will also consider contributions that depart from traditional academic
formats. We encourage all submissions to strategically mobilise critique to
also offer a productive contribution to both feminist politics and media
studies. Submissions must go beyond mere description in order to be
considered for publication in Commentary and Criticism.

Commentary and Criticism also publishes book, film and event reviews of
~1000 words. Reviews should go beyond a detailed description of content to
provide productive critique and stimulate critical debate. We strive to
find reviewers who have expertise in, or a good working knowledge of, the
areas/themes of particular books. We hope that this will enable reviewers
to contextualise the book in relation to what they perceive to be the most
important/current debates in the wider field(s).

All essays and reviews for Commentary and Criticism should be submitted to
ScholarOne <http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/rfms> via the journal’s
website. Submissions to Commentary and Criticism are reviewed by the
Associate Editors, Dr Sherri Williams and Dr Melanie Kennedy, or the Guest
Editor(s) in the case of Special Issues.

For enquiries, please email the Associate Editors Dr Sherri Williams (
