Maybe a piece by Marcel Ophuls in American Film Vol 8 Issue 2 (Nov 1982). This attributes a similar quote to Pierre Kast and mentions a report from Jack Lang though it explicitly says there's nothing about Cooper's voice in that Lang report.

>Subject: [SCREEN-L] Looking for a quote Jack Lang on Gary Cooper's Voice
>
>When Jack Lang was the French Minister of Culture, he once denounced the notion of dubbing American films into French, and as an example referred to how Gary Cooper's voice was an integral part of his star persona. Does anyone have the exact reference or quote?
