Open Positions Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) Television/New Media Studies The University of Notre Dame, Department of Film, Television, and Theatre, invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Television/New Media Studies. This position will be responsible for contributing to the department's growing concentration in this area. There will also be the opportunity to participate in the Graduate Minor in Screen Cultures, the interdisciplinary Ph. D. in Literature Program, and the doctoral program in English. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in televisions, new media, or cultural studies, as well as teaching experience in critical approaches to television. We particularly welcome applicants who would like to help develop our nascent program in digital culture. The Search Committee's deliberations will begin on October 31, 2012. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The appointment begins Tuesday, August 27 2013. The University is on the semester system. The Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (see here) is a dynamic department with nineteen regular faculty. The liberal arts curriculum presents a broad exposure to screen cultures as an intellectual endeavor as well as an aesthetic and practical one, and offers courses that appeal to a wide range of students, including non-majors.
