This is perhaps a bit of a stretch, and doesn't involve blood (and  
it's television), but at the end of a miming routine about props  
during "An Evening With Fred Astaire," Astaire uses an imaginary golf  
club to shoot toward the audience, and appears to accidentally shatter  
the camera lens.
