Apologies for cross posting best James AHRC Post Doctoral Research Assistant (Multiplatforming Public Service Broadcasting) Two years fixed term Salary: £ 18,909 to £ 26,835 per annum inclusive This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in cutting edge research on the relationship between public service broadcasting, multiplatform television, digital media and the independent production sector. You will play a key role in exploring the production cultures and ecology of independent and digital media companies working in the specialist factual sector. You will gain privileged access to a range of media companies, spending substantial time working at such companies based in London and Brighton, conducting interviews and undertaking participant observation. You will develop a research profile as part of a project that aims to bring together broadcasters, policy-makers, independent producers and trainers in contributing to the future shaping of public service broadcasting in the digital age. You will assist the project team (Dr James Bennett, Paul Kerr and Dr Niki Strange [Sussex University]) on the AHRC project, and undertake relevant teaching duties on our postgraduate and undergraduate courses. You will have a relevant PhD, or expect to complete one by September 2010, and have experience of conducting relevant field research in television and/or new media studies.
