There was a subtitled VHS tape that can either be purchased second-hand (Amazon has some) or borrowed from a library (check Worldcat.org). And if this route is acceptable there's also a torrent of the film that has English and Spanish subtitles. -----Original Message----- >From: Lou Thompson <[log in to unmask]> >Sent: Jan 14, 2009 7:57 PM >To: [log in to unmask] >Subject: [SCREEN-L] La Nuit de Varennes > >Greetings, > >I am wearing two hats right now, and passing on a query from my Romanticism list. Someone on that list is looking for a copy of La Nuit de Varennes. All I could find are Region 2 versions without English subtitles. Does anyone have an idea of where this person could find the film in English (preferably region 1, I assume)? > >Thanks. > >Lou >__________________________ > >Lou Ann Thompson, Ph.D, >Professor of English >Texas Woman's University >_____________________________ > >"One Law for the Lion and the Ox is Oppression."--William Blake >_____________________________ > >"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."--Attributed to >Edmund Burke >_____________________________ > >"It could be worse.
