I think there was definitely more in the 1960s such as Pauline Kael, Sheila Benson and Judy Stone. There should be a lot more, but frankly, critics of color are even more lacking today. Then again, the concept of a daily film critic is disappearing rapidly. The previously mentioned Eleanor Ringel Gillispie of Atlanta and Mary Pols of San Jose were both let go as were dozens of others from around the country. Sean P. Means has been keeping tabs of all the buyouts and layoffs -- 32 of them since the beginning of 2006. http://blogs.sltrib.com/movies/labels/disappearing%20critics.htm Best, Dennis Doros Milestone Film & Video PO Box 128 Harrington Park, NJ 07640 Phone: 201-767-3117 [log in to unmask] www.milestonefilms.com www.exilesfilm.com www.killerofsheep.com www.wintersoldierfilm.com ************** Get fantasy football with free live scoring.
