Just wanted to add that the song is used most memorably in Lubitsch's _The Shop around the Corner_. The musical cigarette boxes that play it are supposedly so annoying that no one will buy them. I never understood that, as I think it's a marvelous tune, and I found the boxes rather charming. But then, I guess that's the point. As with the cigarette boxes, the romantic and sexual heat between James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan is subverted by their outward annoyance with each other and inability to see the attraction.
