The Department of Communication and JournalismAuburn University Seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Social Media technology to begin August 16, 2007.  The successful candidate will be able to conduct research and teach coursework that addresses screen-based issues across three majors (Radio/Television/Film, Public Relations, and Journalism).  Courses include Multimedia Production, PR Style & Design, and Newspaper Editing & Design.  The candidate selected for this position must meet the eligibility requirements for working in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and be able to communicate effectively in English.  Teaching load is negotiable. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications:  M.F.A. in relevant area or doctorate in Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism, or Public Relations.  A.B.D. considered with completion of degree by August 16, 2007.  Evidence of excellent teaching is required. Applicants should have demonstrated professional or practical experience in interactivity and web design. The Department of Communication and Journalism comprises more than 700 undergraduate students and a masterís program and is the largest department in Auburn Universityís College of Liberal Arts.
