In Aug 2004, the Pacific Film Archive at UC Berkeley did a wonderful retrospective of Visconti's work, which included Lo straniero. What a treat! At the time, the archive director Edith Kramer told me that she didn't know of any plans for a dvd release. But since that was a couple of years ago, perhaps she might have new info? Here's the link from the series: http://www.bampfa.berkeley.edu:16080/resources/search/index.html Best, Tamao Nakahara University of California, Santa Cruz On 6/18/06, Larsson, Donald F <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > It looks like Visconti's adaptation of Camus' L'ETRANGER (LO STRANIERO/THE STRANGER) is tied up in copyright limbo somewhere. Does anyone know if there's any chance of it's being released to video or other anytime soon? Thanks. > > Don Larsson > > ----------------------------------------------- > "Oh!
