UPDATE: All Areas have CFPs up and ready.
Dear Film and Culture scholars,
The Film & History web site now carries over 50 areas of study for
the November conference. Check out the site and the detailed CFPs
available for our 8-12 Conference on “The Documentary Tradition.”
www.filmandhistory.org
Here is a hint of the variety of topics under the main rubric of
DOCUMENTARY
Genres, Styles, and Aesthetics (13 areas)
Individual Filmmakers (18 areas)
Classics (3 areas)
Eras and Places (3 areas)
Social Documentaries and Topics (6 areas)
National Traidtions (10 areas)

Each area will have multiple panels.
Experts in documentary are invited, but historians and culture
scholars are invited to come for immersion purposes; a meeting
like this one is a great way to “Shoot Niagara”!
Guest artists include Pennebaker and Hegedus of “The War Room”
and guest speakers include Ray Fielding and Betsy McLane,
the “documentary diva.”
