Contractually Limited Appointment, York Film & Video 2005-06 Position Information Position Rank: Contractually Limited Appointment – Assistant Professor Discipline/Field: Critical, Historical, and Theoretical Studies Home Faculty: Fine Arts Home Department/Area/Division: Film & Video Affiliation/Union: YUFA Position Start Date: August 15, 2005 The Department of Film & Video, York University, invites applications for a one year contractually-limited position in Critical, Historical, and Theoretical Studies effective August 15, 2005 (subject to budgetary approval by the University). Responsibilities will include teaching a full range of appropriate undergraduate courses, serving on department committees, student advising and curriculum development. Research specialization or teaching experience in the following areas is strongly preferred: film history, American cinema before 1945, Canadian cinema and television, women and film/media. Applicants should have a doctorate (or near completion) in film studies or a related discipline, a distinguished and active program of research and publication, as well as an excellent record of teaching at the undergraduate level.
