a variation of that quote is given by prof sir christopher frayling in
that recent BBC 4 doc on the 1960s art scene, i think.

i've just finished a phd on films of the 1960s that ends with
considerations of a post-'68 "shift" to readdress fully
political/radical concerns that informed 60s films. i couldn't find any
substantial consideration of this period of transition. i hope to get it
published in the next year or year and a half or so.
