Suggested Topics:

Adaptations of novels to film (_The Thin Red Line_, _We Were Soldiers_, _Lord of the Rings_,  _Starship Troopers_, _The Four Feathers_,  _Winds of War_, etc.)

Adaptations of film to film (Bogart's _Sahara_ (1943))

Thematic Adaptations of War (Lucas' _Star Wars_, The Matrix Trilogy, Aliens: Comics to Cinema, etc.)

2004 Conference meets concurrently with Literature Film Association and The Literature/Film Quarterly and features Adrian Cronauer of "Good Morning Vietnam", Lawrence Suid, author of "Guts and Glory: The Making of the American Military Image on Film", Frank Thompson, expert on the Alamo and content advisor to "The Alamo" (2004), and Jeanine Basinger author of "The World War II Combat Film". Conference Fees are: $200 for regular participants; $150 for graduate students; $50 for spouses. Registration includes a year subscription to Film and History Journal.

While proposals for individual papers are welcome, panel proposals (three/four papers) are especially encouraged.  Both electronic and hard copy submissions are acceptable.
