Reader/Chair in Film Studies

Applications are invited from candidates with research and teaching
interests in any area of film studies for the above post, based in this 5*
research rated (RAE 2001) School.  Candidates should have an excellent
record in teaching and research.  The person appointed will need to
demonstrate academic leadership and be able to make an innovative
contribution to the School, as the Director of the Institute of Film
Studies.  A person appointed at the level of Professor will be expected in
due course to assume the Headship of the School for a three-year period.
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out administrative
duties.

Salary will be within the range 36,464 - 41,333 per annum (Reader scale),
depending on qualifications and experience or within the Professorial range,
minimum 44,874 per annum.  This post is available from 1 September 2004 or
as soon possible thereafter.
