It sounds like one of those ubiquitous distribution companies that picked up old films on the cheap for TV and other play later. I don't know if it was associated with Monogram or its remnants, but Monogram was definitely the studio of the Mr. Wong films. Motion Pictures for TV was apparently based in NYC. I came across a reference to one of their publicists, Michael O'Shea, at http://www2.smumn.edu/uasal/bios/bio00114.html Monogram eventually became Allied Artists, which moved to New York in 1963. Allied in turn had its assets picked up by Lorimar, which is now part of the Time Warner etc. multiverse. You might try the Billy Rose library or a similar source in New York for more info. All I know about them is that they seem to have been a division of Monogram Pictures, and they produced the Boris Karloff series of Mr Wong movies. Were these actually produced for TV? Since these movies were made in the 30s, I'm not sure where the whole TV thing came in. Several of the movies, though, do look as if they were made using television production techniques. Either that or some of them were very low budget Bs. -- This time of year, the frost on the ground and the chill in the air fill me with energy and goodwill.
