Thanks to all who responded to my initial question about copyright rules of
"fair use" for film stills in academic books.  All were helpful, especially
the link to the SCMS article.

But I have another question, not covered by those responses or that article.
What about commercial television shows--with images captured (using computer
software and videotape) from the public airwaves?  Same fair use rules or a
different situation?  Any court cases?
