A correspondent off this list posed a question that the more
technologically-inclined here might be able to answer: exactly (or
approximately) how much time of each 1/24th of a second during normal
sound projection is "dark"? In other words, if the frame is advanced,
halted, and double-flashed by the shutter to minimize flicker, during
what percentage of that time is the image actually not being projected
through the lens?

Any answers would be appreciated.
