The film referred to below that played at the Telluride Film Festival is David Strohmaier's CINERAMA ADVENTURE. Todd McCarthy in VARIETY positively reviewed the film, which he originally screened at Telluride. The official premeire of the film was at the Cinerama Dome in L.A., one of the last two or three such theaters in existence. The premiere of CINERAMA ADVENTURE coincided with the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Cinerama, which debuted in New York in September, 1952. You might also check out http://www.widescreenmuseum.com which has useful background and discussion of Cinerama plus other widescreen processes introduced in the early 50s, in addition to a bibliography.
