To the Women Directors and sources for information and discussion about
them mentioned so far, please add...

Christina Lane's book, FEMINIST HOLLYWOOD; FROM Born in Flames TO Point
Break. Detroit, MI: Wayne State University Press, 2000.

In her book, she offers separate chapters on the films of Martha Coolidge,
Kathryn Bigelow, Lizzie Bordon, Darnell Martin, and Tamra Davis--with
        some attention to Susan Seidelman.

One might also look to Linda Seger's WHEN WOMEN CALL THE SHOTS: THE
DEVELOPING POWER AND INFLUENCE OF WOMEN IN FILM AND TELEVISION.
New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1996.

In their bibliographies, they will also forward reseachers and teachers'
attention to other women directors who are the subjects of books,
such as Ida Lupino, Julie Dash, and Dorothy Arzner.

And though just a little dated now, one should have on one's U library shelf
Gwendolyn Audrey Foster's WOMEN FILM DIRECTORS: AN INTERNATIONAL
BIO-CRITICAL DICTIONARY. Westport, CT: Greenwood Press, 1995.

Hope this helps.
