Hello all, I'm searching for a teaching text I'm sure must exist somewhere: an essay suitable for first-year university students that introduces, in readily understood terms, the post-structuralist critique of authorship (Barthes and others), and cites examples that include films. I want to set such an article to introduce students to what underlies certain critiques of auteurism in cinema studies -- I've found quite a few good articles that deal exclusively with literary texts: any ideas on ones that would work for cinema studies? Thanks in advance, Fran ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr Fran Martin Lecturer, Cinema Studies Program School of Communication, Arts and Critical Enquiry La Trobe University Bundoora, Victoria AUSTRALIA 3083 +613 9479 1422 (w) +613 9480 0681 (h) [log in to unmask] ---- For past messages, visit the Screen-L Archives: http://bama.ua.edu/archives/screen-l.html
