Two books come to mind:

Allan Casebier, _Film and Phenomenology_
Vivian Sobchack, _ The Address of the Eye_

Neither is too new (camo out in 1991 and 1992 respectively), but it is a
good start. One should be careful to take it cum grano salis, especially
Sobchack's claim that film LITERALLY (sic!) is looking at us watching it.
