This an ongoing problem for anyone doing work in TV (and film) history. Studios/networks are increasingly reluctant to release information, and much of the relevant ephemera has simply disappeared. In your case, Murray, you're in luck - - the University of Wisconsin/State Historical Society of Wisconsin Archives in Madison has a large collection of NBC materials, with its best collections in the period you discuss. Pat Weaver's papers are there. Their contact info is available here: http://www.shsw.wisc.edu/archives/index.html .

More broadly, the TV Studies group within SCS is working to create an online compendium of research resources for media historians. Marsha Cassidy and Chris Becker have been hard at work creating an online form where all of us can document which archives and collections we've used, and to what benefit. It should be complete soon.

good luck,

Michael
