i would like to solicit the list's help with a new course undertaking my institution is discussing the possibility of introducing a basic course that we talk about as "intro to filmmaking" even though we would be limited to using video as the medium for the course . . . the course would be a liberal arts elective, aimed at a largely business oriented student population, and would be analogous to the introductory courses we already offer in fiction writing, poetry writing, and play writing . . .but before we open a search for someone to teach the course we need to project what would be involved . . . although we have offered film analysis courses for years, none of us has any experience in filmmaking . . .so, could someone who does provide some basic info on -- at a minimum -- what kinds of facilties would be needed, what equipment each student would have to have, and how much of an expenditure would be involved in offering such a course? other relevant information would also be appreciated, especially if any of you have experience in offering such courses within very strict budgetary constraints . . . thanks very much mike ---- To sign off Screen-L, e-mail [log in to unmask] and put SIGNOFF Screen-L in the message.
