>typical or classical examples of the use of (extreme) close-up shots >of a preson screaming, and (extreme) long-shot shots of a person >whispering? With extreme long-shots wouldn't even normal conversation (if recorded naturalistically) be as inaudible as whispering? Edward Yang's "Yi Yi" has quite a few such shots and so do several of Hou's films. If extreme closeup of a scream means the face then countless horror films will do. If that means the mouth then try Raising Arizona and a couple of Bugs Bunny cartoons. ------------------------------------------- Adventures In Sound http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/adventures.htm Outsider Music Mailing List http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/outsider.htm Documentary Sound http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/adventures/documentary.htm Full Alert Film Review http://wlt4.home.mindspring.com/fafr.htm ---- Screen-L is sponsored by the Telecommunication & Film Dept., the University of Alabama: http://www.tcf.ua.edu
