Contingent upon budgetary approval, the Department of Communication Arts at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison has an opening for a tenure-track faculty
position in the area of media and cultural theory with additional expertise in
race, ethnicity and media OR global media.  Appointment will be at the rank of
Assistant or Associate Professor with a beginning date of August, 2001.
Priority will be given to candidates with a strong publication record whose
work focuses on television and other electronic media and integrates theory and
empirical research.   Ph.D. completion required prior to start of appointment.

We are a program in media and cultural studies specializing in the critical
analysis of electronic media institutions, audiences, texts, and contexts.
Faculty members teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
