Dear Colleagues,
For the upcoming edition of the peer-reviewed journal Short Film Studies (14.2), in addition to the ongoing open Call for Papers that welcomes submissions that reflect your critical and scholarly interests, manuscripts are invited that focus on the issue's featured auteur, the legendary and acclaimed Jenni Olson. A force in queer independent cinema as a filmmaker, historian, curator, and archivist, Olson’s shorts include 575 Castro St. (2009); the parody Levi’s 501s Commercial (1991); and Blue Diary (1998). Several are available @ https://vimeo.com/jenniolsonsf
Papers that address the issue’s featured theme - LGBTQ+ short filmmakers and/or films/media – also are welcome.
Please send a brief abstract of 50-to-75-words along with a brief biographical statement to the editor [log in to unmask].
Information about the journal’s ongoing Open Call is @ www.intellectbooks.com/short-film-studies in the “Call for Papers” tab.
Deadline for full submissions (14.2): 10 May 2024
Length of manuscripts: 1500 to 4000 words
For a pdf copy of the full Call for Papers or any additional information about the journal or Issue 14.2, I will be very happy to hear from you.
Best wishes,
Cynthia Felando
