 Chair Position at the University of North Texas

Chair of the Department of Radio, Television, and Film.
The University  of North Texas seeks candidates for Chair of the
Department of  Radio, Television, and Film. This is a tenure track
or tenured  appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in an appropriate field is required,
along with a well-established record of scholarly research and/or
creative activities. Responsibilities will include administration of the
department, teaching, research and/or creative activities, and
service, including contribution to the graduate program in an area of
specialty.The successful candidate will be expected to provide
leadership to a department with both undergraduate and graduate
degree programs and 13 full time faculty and five staff.

The department operates extensive audio, video, and film production
laboratories as well as KNTU, a 100,000 watt student- staffed radio
station and North Texas Television (NTTV), a student cable outlet. A
$6 million building renovation is currently underway to expand and
update facilities. The University of North Texas, with an enrollment
of 25,500 and a full time faculty of more than 800, is located in
Denton, a friendly college town with a population of about 70,000.
Also in Denton is Texas Woman's University with an enrollment of
10,000. Denton is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth "Metroplex," the
nation's seventh-largest media market. To apply, send a letter of
