Hi,

You should definitely check out the work of Lourdes Portillo.

She uses still photography both formally and thematically in her films.

A colleague of mine is writing an article on Portillo's use of the
photograph for an upcoming anthology on Portillo...e-mail me if you want
more info and I can find out the details of when it will be out.
