In addition to the fine suggestions by Peter Warren and Paul Wiener,
I'd also suggest the following:

Early newpaper battles in Sam Fuller's PARK ROW

John Wayne wins over skeptical David Jansen to the pro-war side in THE
GREEN BERETS

Jonathan Pryce's Murdoch/Gates-merger villain in the last James Bond
film, TOMORROW NEVER DIES

Charles Laughton is another villainous media baron in THE BIG CLOCK

See DeVito's slezoid journalist in L.A. CONFIDENTIAL and the reluctant
tabloidists of MICHAEL

WOMAN OF THE YEAR features Hepburn as a crusading correspondent and
Mary Louise Parker's rendition of her in THE HUDSUCKER PROXY

The Menken-like skeptic in INHERIT THE WIND

The BROADWAY MELODY OF 1936 features Jack Benny, of all people, as a
Winchell-like gossip columnist

A surprising number of Screwball Comedies have reporters as main
characters. In addition to the previously mentioned Capra films, see
NOTHING SACRED and THE PHILADELPHIA STORY

Although the "ethics" are only tangential, see Clark Gable and Myrna
Loy as foreign correspondents in LOVE ON THE RUN and Joel McCrea in
Hitchcock's FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT

An ethical question is the motivation for the main narrative in THE MAN
WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE; other such questions frame the pretense for
the narrative (such as it is) of DEEP IMPACT

See crusading journalists in ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN, THE PARALLAX VIEW
and CALL NORTHSIDE 777 (also the ones who inevitably have their
printing presses wrecked in such films as DODGE CITY)

DEADLINE USA

THE LOST HONOR OF KATHRYN BECK (a made-for-tv remake of THE LOST HONOR
OF KAThARINA BLUM)
