Of course the ultimate metacinematic mindbender by the Master is
"Duck-a-Muck", in which poor Daffy Duck finds himself trapped in an animated
world where the rules, props, backgrounds, seasons, and even the film's
registration in its supposed projector gate keep being redrawn, and it
is impossible to accommodate to the metamorphoses. In the end the
exasperated Daffy cries out like the Biblical Job before him "Who is
responsible for this? I demand that you show yourself!" Then it's
revealed that the mischievous Animator of Daffy's cruelly surreal world
has all along been Bugs ("Ain' I a stinker?") Bunny.
