I'd forgotten about this episode, and missed the others you mentioned.
Thanks for pointing them out.  I'm more inclined to your assessment of the
character now, though I'm still not sure that "closeted" is quite right.
Even in this episode, in which Josh was clearly attracted to the brother,
the show seemed determined to portray him as not "getting" what that
attraction meant.
