FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY, College of Liberal Arts is seeking applicants
for an Assistant Professor, tenure track, in film studies, to teach
courses in film history, theory, and criticism.  Secondary interests in
gender and in video and television studies would be welcomed. College of
Liberal Arts will begin its new degree program in Communication (Film and
Media Studies) in Fall 1998.  The College has a diverse and rapidly
growing student population and sponsors a successful International Film
Series.  Effective date of employment August 1998. Salary negotiable
depending upon credentials, nine-months appointment, summer teaching
available. Ph.D. required, active publishing record and teaching
experience preferred.  Scholarly productivity and publication expected for
advancement.  Application material should be postmarked by MARCH 16, 1998.
