Keramos
 Conditions fo participation
 
A selection committee will choose, from among the films and videos
sent in, approximately fifty creations which highlight ceramic art
and its presence in cultural life.
 
This selection of films will be screened during the Festival, in
three different sections. For each of these sections, a prize,
awarded by a jury of porominent figures brought together for the event,
will reward the prize-winning film:
-Heritage Prize
-Innovation Prize
-Clay Prize, exchange material
 
Keramos is directed primaily at professionals, though also at young
directors undergoing training, schools and unversity colleges of
audio-visual studies, secondary schools or ceramics lovers throughout
the world.
 
The Creations will have to be dedicated to ceramic art, from
tradition through to the most contemporary works, from popular crafts
artist symposiums, and from appenticeship to the major exhibitions.
 
The works will have to be produced on a 16 or 35mm film medium or
professional video.
 
Foreign films not sub-titled in French will have to be accompanied by
a translation into English or French, so as to allow simultaneous
translation during the screening.
The Films for the competition will have to reach the Selection
Committee before the 30th of December 1997, in the form of a video
copy in VHS format, and they must be accompanied by the application
form duly filled in and signed.
 
The Selecion Committee will then make a preliminary selection of
approxiamtely fifty works and it will then decide the section in
which theses films wil be presented during the Festival.
 
For any film selected, the final copy intended for screening
during the Festival will have to reach the Committee before the 1st February
1998.
 
Works are sent at the cost, risk and peril of the sender.
 
The return transport and forwarding agent costs are payable by the
producer or his representative. This applies both to the films
selected and to the films and cassettes submitted to the Festival with
a view to their official selection.
 
Insurance: The Festival will be responsible for insuring the films as
from the time when the carrier delivers them to its offices and until
the moment when the Festival returns them to the carrier. In the event
of loss of  or damage to a copy of a film, the Festival's liability
is only involved up to an amount of the price of the printing of a
copy in the laboratory.
 
VHS copies of films sent in will be kept by ateliers d'art de france
in order to form a documentation collection reserved for its memebers
and which will not be for public broadcasting.
