Scribelers: Three days ago I finished reading an autobiography
(published in Great Britain). Within the same day I wrote and emailed
a letter to the author; introducing myself and asked him about the
availability of the film rights to his book. Yesterday morning I
received an email, wherein he thanked me many times for my interest;
giving me the address and fax number to his literary agent in London.

Question: Do any of you have any kind of experience; trying to option
the exclusive motion picture and television rights to a true-life story
(published as an autobiography)?

Any advice on how to approach his
agent re: exclusive rights, would be highly appreciated.
