I thought that I would repost this job information for subscribers to this
newsgroup on behalf of Film Studies at Carleton University.
 
Film Studies at Carleton University includes faculty with international
reputations for work in national cinemas, film history, documentary,
animation, video and new media and a variety of other areas of
investigation.  Located in Ottawa, Canada, Film Studies is supported by
significant library holdings, recently added to by the acquisition of
research materials from the National Film Board, the Museum of Modern Art and
the National Archives of Canada.  The Carleton campus is located close to the
superb research facilities of the Sound and Visual Archives of the National
Archives of Canada.  Course offerings in degree programs in Film Studies
are augmented by independent studies and practica supervised in cooperation
with such institutions as the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Film
Institute and the National Archives.

FILM STUDIES - CARLETON UNIVERSITY
 
Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Film Studies at
the rank of Assistant Professor to commence July 1, 1997.  This position
is subject to budgetary approval.  Applicants are expected to have a
completed Ph.D., a record of research and scholarly publication, and the
ability to contribute to the development of a graduate program in Film
Studies.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated expertise in
Canadian or another national cinema.  Applications, with a curriculum
vitae and the names and addresses of three referees, should be sent to:

Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Canada K1S 5B6.  The
closing date for receipt of applications is March 31, 1997.  In accordance
