Dorota requests:
"1. Titles of the movies in which someone projected him/herself into a
movie/computer game. The only example I can think of so far is Woody
Allen's "The Purple Rose of Cairo" (however I am not sure whether the
viewer entered the movie or the movie hero came down to her -- can anyone
solve this?)"
You might want to check out the Self-Referential Movie List
([log in to unmask]), which routine discusses such matters. There's
a related Website too, but I don't have the URL at hand.
In THE PURPLE ROSE OF CAIRO, Jeff Daniels comes down off the screen (but at
the end, I believe that he goes back).
There are a number of others that do this kind of thing. A classic example
is Buster Keaton's SHERLOCK, JR., where he plays a projectionist who
winds up in the movie he's showing.
TRON was one of the first films to have a character sucked into a computer.
As to books, the whole sub-genre of "cyberpunk" SF deals with such issues.
If you check ScreenSite, you can probably find ways to reference a number
of other titles and commentaries on such films.
Good luck!
