I have written a paper on Gilliam's BRAZIL, 1984, bureaucratic entrophy and
the post-histoire. There may be some affinities to 12 MONKEYS
I argue that apocalyptic thinking posits a
problem for both utopia and dystopia (and various other things).
The collection of essays is edited by PAUL GOETSCH/BERND
SCHEUNEMANN.The title is TEXT UND TON IM FILM.
The paper's title is "'The Lord of the Files'-Carnivalizing Dystopia"
Should be out soon. I'm German,
but the paper is in English.
