IAMHist is an international group of scholars, film directors, and
television producers established to further the use of audiovisual
media for teaching and research in history and devoted to promoting
the international exchange of information and the development of
international projects within its field of interest. A major goal is
to improve the preservation of audiovidual meterials as documents and
to improve the access to archive institutions and collections
housing audovisual materials. Past conferences have been held in the
United States, the Soviet Union, Austria, Denmark, Germany, The
Nethelands, Italy, and United Kingdom. IAMHist sponsors publication of The
Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television(quarterly) and a
Newsletter.
