A must-include film for your prison course is I AM A FUGITIVE FROM A
CHAIN GANG.  It made a powerful statement about chain gangs and, I
think, brought about some reform.  Another (more recent) prison
reform film is BRUBAKER.  (They stand apart from the general run
of prison fare--which is usually concerned with a battle of wills
between a convict-hero and an evil warden).
