I don't know if they still make them, Lesli, but there used to be a cheap
little doohickey that allowed you to put a 16mm film print in it and shoot
a 2 1/4 negative off of it. I used it years ago to create frame
enlargements for my dissertation. Then, there's also a more sophisticated
device that works like a light table and photo stand combined. The image
is displayed on a translucent screen and you simply re-photograph it.
'Course, the master of frame enlargements is Kristin Thompson--though I
think she usually works off of 35mm prints. You might try contacting her
for advice.
