          MICHIGAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCE, ARTS & LETTERS
                       CALL FOR PAPERS
              1997 CINEMA STUDIES CONFERENCE
 
 
          The Cinema Studies Section of the Michigan Academy of
          Science, Arts, and Letters will hold its annual conference
          on March 21 and 22 at Calvin College in Grand Rapids,
          Michigan.
 
          Papers and proposals are invited in all areas of the
 
 
          history, theory and pedagogy of the moving image.  The
          Cinema Studies Section of the Michigan Academy is national
          in scope; scholars throughout the U.S. and Canada present
          research at our meetings.  The Cinema Studies Section
          endorses a policy of informality and creative networking to
          provide the most productive atmosphere possible for
          scholarly exchange.  Papers from past sessions have been
          published in a variety of scholarly journals.
 
          Paper proposals are due no later than November 15, 1996.
