"Hamlet" (Germany 1922 dir. Sven Gade): Asta Nielsen in the
lead
 
"Murder" (UK 1931, Hitchcock) - main character
cross-dresses as part of a murder alibi
 
"First a Girl" (UK 1934) - Jessie Matthews musical in which
she appears in male costume (I've only read references to
it, so I can't say exactly why)
