                                  1997 WORLD POPULATION
                                      FILM/VIDEO FESTIVAL
 
The Sopris Foundation, Searchlight Films, and Population
Communications International announce the 3rd Annual World Population
Film/Video Festival for secondary and college students. We want
students to explore the connection between population growth,
resource consumption, the environment, and our common global future.
Where are we headed and what can we do about it?
 
ENTRIES:
MUST BE POSTMARKED BY JUNE 15, 1997.
GUIDELINES:
*must address the festival's inter-related themes: world population,
resource consumption the environment, and a sustainable future
*must be produced by a secondary or college student, or by a group of
such students. Prize winning and honorable mention programs will be
chosen for each category.
*must be submitted in 1/2 inch VHS (NTSC) format for preview judging.
*must be postmarked by June 15, 1997.
*may be any length, and originate any format - film, video, or
multimedia - and be any style: documentary, narrative, music video,
animation, etc..
 
A TOTAL OF $10,000 IN PRIZES AWARDED TO THE TOP THREE
ENTRIES IN SECONDARY AND COLLEGE CATEGORIES.
