One of my favorite shopping scenes is from the not very
exceptional film, "Norman Is That You." It is the scene
where Red Foxx, having learned that his son is Gay, goes
shopping for books on homosexuality at a mall-type bookstore,
trying to be discrete. Hysterical.

Along the same lines, I believe that "The Gay Deceivers" (a
TRULY dreadful film) has a supermarket shopping scene which
addresses sex roles and shopping very pointedly. (But, unlike
Red Foxx' brilliant comedic turn, it is more offensive than
funny.)
