Candyman has some story elements that I found exciting and innovative,
however, I must raise the issue that outside the level of story, Candyman
employs almost every scare device in the genre in ways that are rather
mundane.
 
Regarding Dust Devil, have you read Richard Stanley's "Dust Devil Diary" in
Projections 3 (Faber and Faber)?  It's worth checking out.
