NEW FESTIVAL DATES: NOV. 15-19, 1995!
The 1995 SARASOTA FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL plans a special meeting of all
teachers of French films: "LE RENDEZ-VOUS DES PROFS", a continental
breakfast meeting Thursday morning, 8 a.m., before the first morning
film. This first meeting is a chance for those of us attending to
identify one another, exchange information regarding courses taught and
problems teaching them or getting permission to teach them, etc. This
should allow us to identify one another throughout the festival and
continue discussions about films from the standpoint of our educational
interests. Both high school teachers and college teachers will get a
chance to meet their respective colleagues present. As I volunteered to
convene the meeting, I shall welcome any suggestions you may have.
Please send them to me directly and not to the list (!) One
item on my agenda is to procure e-mail addresses for those of us attending.
In case you don't know about the festival: The Seventh Annual
SARASOTA FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL will take place NOV. 15-19, 1995, in
Sarasota, Florida. Over 20 of the newest French films, some of which are
world premieres, the others U.S. premieres, will be shown during this time
at the Sarasota Opera House. This is everyone's chance to see films you
might only see in New York as well as others that never find a distributor
-- and not because they aren't good! I saw Nikita Mikhalkov's _Burnt by
the Sun_ there first! - it was a French co-production.

For ticket or other information about the festival in general,
call the Festival Office: (941) 351-9010 (ext. 4300); FAX: (941) 351-5796;
or send an inquiry to: Sarasota French Film Festival, Asolo Center for the
Performing Arts, 5555 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243.

With Aloha from Emily, Convener of the Rendez-Vous des Profs!
