Does anybody out there know anything about Stanley Kubrick's
newest project? Last year there were some rumors about it being
an adaptation of the novel Wartime Lies starring Joseph Mazzello
(Tim in Jurassic Park). Then I heard it was going to be a
science fiction film called A.I. (for Artificial Intelligence).
I really got excited by this - I think Kubrick's science fiction
films are among the best films made by anybody - so I wrote to
Warner Bros., and never got a response. I keep deluding myself
that he's making the film right now in absolute secrecy (he does
like a closed set) and he'll unleash it on the world when he's
good and ready. What a way to close out the century! Anyway, if
anybody has any facts, or even more rumors about it, I won't have
to keep living in a fool's paradise.
