Actually, he bows his head and apologizes to his dead opponent when he finds
out what he's done in the taxi cab.

Of course he knows who Vincent is -- Vincent pointedly insulted him in the
bar after Marcellus lectured Butch. He called him "punchy" among other
things. There's a nice shot of Willis staring at Vincent quizically as he
embraces Marcellus and delivers the briefcase.
